Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a national campaign that raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. This year’s theme is “A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive Workforce: What Can YOU Do?” Prepare for 2012 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) activities and observances by using this toolkit or download and order the posters from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP).
According to Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy Kathy Martinez, “Employers who ensure that inclusive workplace policies and practices are woven into the fabric and culture of the organization create an environment that encourages all workers — including those of us with disabilities — to work to their full capacity and contribute fully to the organization’s success.”
