Date: April 3, 2018
The Olmstead Community Engagement Workgroup seeks new members from throughout the state. We will accept applications through April 9.
Minnesota’s Olmstead Plan envisions people with disabilities living, learning, working and enjoying life in the most integrated setting of their choice. The Olmstead Community Engagement Workgroup began in 2017. With the Olmstead Implementation Office (OIO), the workgroup provides input and recommendations to the Olmstead Subcabinet on ways to improve community engagement between disability communities and state agencies.
This year, the workgroup will create strategies and activities to implement the Olmstead Community Engagement Plan, making sure that engagement practices are person-centered, accessible, inclusive, transparent and equitable for diverse communities.
The OIO Subcabinet places a high priority on recruiting diverse representatives from within Minnesota’s disability community. We encourage people of color, American Indians, women, people who identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer) and greater Minnesota residents to apply.
We will notify applicants of the status of their applications in early April. We will notify finalists by the last week of April.
[The application window is now closed. Thank you for your participation.]
If you have questions or need to request accommodations for the application process, please contact Melody Johnson at the Olmstead Implementation Office at 651-296-8177 or melody.johnson@state.mn.us.
