APPLICATION DEADLINE TODAY, MARCH 29, 2019: The Metropolitan Council seeks to appoint six advisors to the Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee (TAAC)
The Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) is reaching out to let you know about six openings on the Metropolitan Council’s Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee (TAAC). We look forward to having a good group of candidates to fill this important role in the metro area.
The current committee vacancies page gives detail on all advisory committee openings. Click on the Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee to find out which districts have open seats. TAAC advises the Metropolitan Council on management policies for public transportation services in the region from the perspective of riders who have disabilities.
The open seats are drawn from community members and are assigned based on Metropolitan Council districts. At least half the members must be certified as eligible for ADA paratransit services and be active users of public transportation.
The remaining seats could be filled by:
- Parents, family members or advocates of people with disabilities;
- Staff who serve people with disabilities; or
- Anyone who has an interest in transportation accessibility.
If you, or someone you know, would make a great TAAC Advisor, we encourage you to apply. Please share this post!
Check out this opportunity and apply by the deadline Friday, March 29. Find application information here: current committee vacancies.
