Legislative Forum on Disability
The Minnesota Council on Disability is excited to announce that Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan will be providing the welcoming address to the upcoming Legislative Forum on Disability. The Legislative Forum provides an opportunity for advocates and other disability stakeholders who develop, design, advocate for, and implement disability-related public policy to interact with lawmakers directly.
MCD Policy Director Speaks at National Conference Regarding Impact of CAVs
Public Policy Director Kody Olson was a guest speaker on a panel at the National Conference on State Legislators discussing the impact of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) related to the disability community. We believe that Connected and Autonomous Vehicles may reduce transportation barriers for people with disabilities, the aging population, low-income communities, and other transportation challenged populations. Adoption of the CAV technology may provide Minnesotans with broader access to live, work and play in their own community.
Snow Removal Is a Life Line
With the first major snowstorm of the season, the Minnesota Council on Disability asks you to remove the snow from your sidewalks and curb ramps. Sidewalks and curb ramps are lifelines for many people with disabilities and for our senior community.

State Fair Wrap-Up
And … it’s a wrap! The Minnesota State Fair 2019 saw record attendance, and we had many visitors at the Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) booth! Some of them are pictured in our blog post!
