Today, there are 12,000 COVID-19 vaccination appointments available at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds vaccination site operated by the Minnesota Department of Health. ALL Minnesotans with disabilities are eligible to receive their vaccine now, and the Fairgrounds site is here to serve our community 7 days a week. Every person with a disability is eligible to be vaccinated at the State Fairgrounds site, regardless of zip code.

Documentarian Celebrates the ADA: Remembering the Past, Engaging the Future
Sruthi Subramanian is a high school student from Arden Hills, Minnesota who created a film documentary about the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She submitted her documentary to the National History Day Competition and was a state finalist in Minnesota. The Minnesota Council on Disability asked Sruthi to share her experience in a guest blog about creating the documentary and her thoughts on how younger generations can get more involved in Disability Rights Advocacy.

Governor Makes Comments and Commitments to Disability Communities
Governor Tim Walz and Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan answered questions for their Budget Engagement Series. Disability advocates must stay vigilant and ensure that our elected officials follow through with their promises. The Minnesota Council on Disability will continue to monitor the budget-making process and advise the Governor and legislators on how to best support and empower the disability community.
Make a Plan for Your Vaccine and Plan to Help Others Who May Need Help
MCD would like to share the following message from Disability Hub MN: State health officials urge Minnesotans to get a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible. That call to action is especially true for people with disabilities. Support workers, friends and loved ones are encouraged to help the people who may need help scheduling their vaccine, especially for those lacking the best information or internet access.
