Tell NCD its policy priorities should be!
In two weeks, the National Council on Disability will host its next quarterly Council meeting in Washington, DC during which time it will discuss and decide its policy priorities for the next fiscal year. The Council wants to hear your thoughts regarding the slate of proposed projects under consideration.
Passage of H.R. 620 Sparks Outrage in Disability Community
“The House of Representatives passed H.R. 620….The final version of H.R. 620 would give businesses up to four months to respond to an ADA violation complaint and start making ‘substantial progress’ toward removing barriers to access. The bill does not contain a definition of ‘substantial progress.'”
February 23, 2018 Legislative Update
As the first week of the 2018 session comes to a close, the Council wants to remind you that we exist as a technical resource for you, your staff and your constituents on all issues of disability policy. Erica Schmiel has joined the Council staff for the legislative session.
Save the Date: Volunteer Driver Program Forum
This daylong event, convened by the Minnesota Council on Transportation Access, will bring together individuals running volunteer driver programs and other stakeholders. The forum will provide attendees with the opportunity to share information to help maintain and strengthen these programs.
Stakeholders needed to serve on Community First Services and Supports council
The Minnesota Secretary of State is accepting applications from people who would like to serve on the Community First Services and Supports Development and Implementation Council. Applicants should have knowledge of the personal care assistance program. The council consults and collaborates with the Department of Human Services on the development and implementation of Community First Services and Supports.
