The Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities is now accepting applications for the Partners in Policymaking Class 41 advocacy and leadership training program developed by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities! You can find Class 41 dates, information, and marketing materials, as well as apply for the program on the Class 41 website. Partners in Policymaking® is a leadership training program for parents of young children with developmental disabilities and adults with disabilities. Created by the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities 35 years ago, the Partners program has been offered nationally and internationally. Through informative and interactive sessions, Partners teaches leadership skills and the process of developing positive partnerships with elected officials and other policymakers who make decisions about the services that you and your family use.

The Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DEED-VRS) division administers the following activity through the Employment Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing grant program authorized in Minnesota Statute 268A.16. Activity: Ongoing Employment Support Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing. Grants for this activity are to provide ongoing employment support services to individuals who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing to empower individuals to maintain and advance in competitive, integrated employment.

The Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER MN) is inviting Latin Americans/Latinos who identify as disabled living in Southeast MN Counties (Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona) as well as their caregivers and family members to participate in a focus group to understand the barriers and challenges they face to achieve an independent life.
