Request for Proposal: Employment Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing Grant Program
The Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DEED-VRS) division administers the following activity through the Employment Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing grant program authorized in Minnesota Statute 268A.16. Activity: Ongoing Employment Support Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing. Grants for this activity are to provide ongoing employment support services to individuals who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing to empower individuals to maintain and advance in competitive, integrated employment.

HACER MN (Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research) está invitando a Latinos que se identifiquen con una discapacidad viviendo en los condados del sureste de Minnesota (Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona) así como a sus cuidadores y familiares a participar en grupos de enfoque para entender mejor las barreras y desafíos que enfrentan para poder lograr una vida independiente. Se estarán obsequiando tarjetas de Amazon de $25 a cada participante.
Living with a Disability as a Latine in MN
The Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER MN) is inviting Latin Americans/Latinos who identify as disabled living in Southeast MN Counties (Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona) as well as their caregivers and family members to participate in a focus group to understand the barriers and challenges they face to achieve an independent life.
Legislative Forum Listening Session Wrap Up
On March 30th, the Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) held our Legislative Forum Listening Session, an important follow-up to our December Legislative Forum. The Listening Session was an opportunity to hear public remarks from the community on pressing issues impacting Minnesotans with disabilities. Folks shared powerful stories of their experiences and the experiences of their loved ones that will be helpful in informing our work going forward.
