Sherry Bartholomew: My name is Sherry. I’m bipolar, have ADHD, borderline personality disorder and PTSD. I was a computer geek for a large corporation, and I found out that I had a passion for food, so I went to school for culinary arts and management.
I focused on being a pastry chef. It is a tough industry. I had a breakdown. I knew I couldn’t go back to work.
I found out that art was really good for me. Working with polymer clay is very much like working with fondant. Fondant is what you see on wedding cakes. Polymer clay is non-edible. You can do the same things with them both.
Working with clay gave me back some of the passion that I had when I was a pastry chef. It’s a life-saving thing for me. Art is a life-saving thing.
