Making Pride Accessible
The Twin Cities Pride Festival is evolving to become a more inclusive celebration for all. This year, organizers are taking steps to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can fully participate in the festivities. From expanded sensory-friendly spaces to wheelchair-accessible paths and trained volunteers offering assistance, the festival is embracing the spirit of true inclusivity. These improvements address longstanding concerns about accessibility in Pride events, particularly for those with mobility challenges or sensory sensitivities. By introducing features these, the organizers are sending a powerful message: in our community, everyone belongs.
As we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community’s inclusion in society, let’s remember that full inclusion means leaving no one behind.
